Recovering ZEN Wallet

Perhaps you have a new device and need to recover your wallet. Download the ZEN Wallet from the Play Store, set your PIN, and proceed to "Settings"

Under "Settings" chose "Recover Existing Wallet. Type your Secret Phrase to recover wallet. See Figure 1.1.

If you have lost (never recorded on paper, lost the paper etc) your secret phrase, there is no recovery. The Secret Phrase is located in an encrypted data store. It is never transmitted to Horizen in any fashion and cannot be be retrieved.

If your Secret Phrase does not recover your desired addresses there are only three possibilities:

  1. Your Secret Phrase was recorded incorrectly.
  2. The Secret Phrase was entered incorrectly.
  3. Both 1 & 2 were true, simultaneously.

1 means that your ZEN is lost.
2 means that you may simply be entering the Secret Phrase incorrectly from a correct record.
3 means that you should check for typos until absolutely certain that you are entering the phrase correctly.

If 3 is correct, then your seed phrase is wrong. The wallet and its ZEN are lost.
