Sphere 6.3 - Backup Phrase Does Not Work

Is Backup Phrase Recorded Accurately?

Check if there is an error with your recording of your recovery phrase.

Every word in the phrase must be in the BIP39 word library. A single typo or mis-transcribed word - such as "altar", instead of "alter" will result in the wrong addresses being recovered.

Entering Your Backup Phrase When Restoring A Wallet

Requirements for entering the Backup Phrase when Restoring a Wallet are:

• •  No capitalization

• •  No leading space or other invisible character preceding the first word

• •  One space between each word

• •  No trailing space or other invisible charter following the last word

• •  Words must actually be in the BIP39 library

• •  There must not be any special characters or numbers added

Compare Your Backup Phrase To The BIP39 Library

To determine if your recorded words actually ARE in the BIP39 word library, go to:

https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt

There you will find 2048 words. Take your recorded list and use your browser Find or Search command to enter each of the words that you have recorded for your Backup Phrase and find that each word is found in the library.

If ANY word on your recorded list does not perfectly match the words in the BIP39 library, then you will not restore your original addresses.
