Creating a Manual Backup
Arizen wallet has a convenient feature for making backups of your wallets. It is highly recommended to make regular backups to an offline device, such as an encrypted USB thumb drive.
If you’re logged in, you can export your wallet in *.awd (encrypted) or *.uawd (un-encrypted).
- Click on menu item "File" and choose option "Backup", see Figure 1.11.
- If you choose option "Backup ENCRYPTED" wallet you’ll see an important on your screen (Figure 1.12). It informs you that your private keys will be encrypted and in order to access your private keys you need to know the corresponding username and password, otherwise you cannot control your ZEN. So, please be aware and confirm that you understand this fact by clicking on "I understand".
- If you choose option "Backup UN-ENCRYPTED" wallet you’ll see an important warning on your screen (Figure 1.13). It informs you that your wallet will be exported in plain text. It means that anyone who has the file with this text can control with your ZEN. So, please be aware and confirm that you understand this fact by clicking on "I understand".
Figure 1.11: Click on "File" then one of the two options: "ENCRYPTED" or "UNENCRYPTEDUN-ENCRYPTED" to manually create a backup.
Figure 1.12: A warning appears if you want to make an encrypted wallet backup. You must know the credentials to not lose access to your zen.
Figure 1.13: A warning appears if you want to make an unencrypted un-encrypted wallet backup. Your wallet will be exported in plain text.
