Sphere 3 - Full Mode
Who Should Use Full Mode?
Users who wish to take advantage of the privacy features of Sphere should use Full Mode. This includes shielded addresses and private messaging. Keep in mind that once an account has been used in Full Mode, your previously encrypted private keys will be place in an unencrypted wallet.dat
file.
Full Mode is targeted at advanced users who understand the implications of running a full Zen node on the local machine and maintaining a full local copy of the blockchain. Full Mode is not suitable for novice crypto-currency users.
Recommendation
Consider creating one Light Mode Account for transparent addresses. Never change it into Full Mode.
Create another Account and set it for Full Mode and use this Account for private addresses and private messaging.
Full Mode Security Precautions
Using the Full Mode converts Sphere into a full blockchain node with the capability to send private transactions and private messages using zk-SNARK technology. This requires that the private keys be stored in an unencrypted wallet.dat
file located in the sphereDataDir
directory. If access to your computer is compromised by malware or other means you are at risk of losing the contents of your wallet and your ZEN.
