Sphere 6.5 - zen daemon unable to connect (missing parameters) - Win 10
If your are using Sphere in full mode and find that the zen daemon cannot connect, and have reviewed the debug.log
file and determined the parameters are incomplete or missing, perform the following.
debug.log file entry
Located in: %appdata%\sphereDatadir
2020-04-01 13:37:00 Error: Cannot find the Horizen network parameters in the following directory: "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\ZcashParams"
Quit Sphere
Determine that no instance of zend.exe is running by using task manager and checking the detail tab, if it is running, end the task.
Firewall/Antivirus
Make sure that your firewall and/or antivirus is not blocking wget.exe
Navigate to ZcashParams Directory
Hit the windows + r key simultaneously on your keyboard to bring up the Run application.
Enter the following: %appdata%\ZcashParams
Delete any files found there.
Navigate to zend Directory
Hit the windows + r key simultaneously on your keyboard to bring up the Run application.
Enter the following: %appdata%\horizen\zend
Run the batch file named: setup_zend.bat
This will launch a terminal window to begin downloading the parameters. Once it finishes downloading, it will automatically close.
Launch Sphere by Horizen in Full Mode
The zen daemon should start and connect to blockchain
